International Women’s Day is March 8. It is a global day for celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. It is a shared day of global celebration and a call for gender parity.
It is not controlled or run by any one government, NGO, charity, corporation, academy, institution or women’s network, nor is any media hub responsible for it.
International Women’s Day fosters unity, celebration, reflection, advocacy and action - whatever that looks like at a local level. The day has been celebrated and growing for over a 100 years - and continue’s from strength to strength.
